Important questions to answer before we start

1. Where does the yield come from?

By depositing tokens to Modulus Protocol's Pools, the tokens would be distributed to other protocols to earn the yield. However, in the first pool of Modulus which is stETH pool, by depositing stETH to Modulus, the token itself would generate the yield every 24 hours in Modulus Protocol's Smart Contract. At the end of each epoch, the total yield would be distributed to 3 random users picked by using Chainlink's VRF. Also, in Modulus's initial token distribution, there is a part in which MODULs are reserved for incentivizing users to participate in Modulus.

2. Is Modulus a Lottery game? And how can I win the rewards

No, Modulus is not a lottery platform. Modulus is built based on FMRFi model which is first introduced by Wayne, the Founder of Modulus Protocol, in which the yield accumulated would be distributed to 3 random users which are fairly and randomly chosen by leveraging the power of Chainlink's VRF. In this model, users can manipulate the possibility of winning the rewards. Here, by depositing more tokens to the pools, and holding the tokens in the pools longer in each epoch, the users would have more chances of winning. Besides, users can also enhance their chances by locking MODUL and LP tokens to earn cheat tickets, which can be used to improve their winning chances.

How to use Modulus Protocol

Step 1: Deposit to Modulus Pools

Users can check their preferred pools at https://app.modulus.fi to deposit tokens to. In each pool, there would be a required token which users have to deposit to participate in the epoches. After depositing, you won't have to do anything else to gain tickets. Modulus's Smart Contracts are designed to automatically calculate your tickets. Even when you have deposited and then withdraw the entire invested amount, you would still be recorded having accumulated tickets in the epoch. After each epoch, you also don't need to do anything. The protocol would record your tickets automatically.

At the moment, stETH is the only active pool

Step 2: (Optional) Lock MODUL and LP Tokens to increase your possibility of winning

For those receiving locked MODUL Partner Airdrops, you are automatically given cheat tickets. You can distribute them to your preferred pools to improve your winning chance

By locking MODUL and LP Tokens, users would be granted a certain amount of cheat tickets each epoch. Users can use those cheat tickets to increase their chance of winning.

Step 3: The protocol randomly picks up lucky users

At the end of each epoch(Which lasts 7 days each), the protocol's bot would send requests to Chainlink's VRF to pick up 3 lucky ticket IDs. The ticket IDs then would be matched to find out the lucky users. The protocol then would announce the lucky users on the Draw History site of each pool, and on the protocol's social networks including Twitter and Discord.

Step 4: Claim the rewards

If you find out that you're the lucky users, congratulations! You can come to the dashboard and choose the pool that you have participated in. Move to the Claim tab to claim all of the rewards that you have accumulated.

In the case that you forgot to claim the rewards of an epoch, don't worry! Every time you are luckily given the rewards, they would be accumulated and you can claim them later and at any time.
